Update

Hello readers! I have missed blogging. Well Ike is over but things won't be the same for a while in the Houston area. I am very thankful to say that we are okay and had only minimal damage. We even have power and I'm thinking that it never went out. Praise Jesus! We went to stay with my parents because our zip code had a mandatory evacuation. We live about 30 min from Galveston and my parents live about 45 min so we felt more safe there. My parents lost power at 1:30am on Saturday and it finally came back on yesterday around 4:30pm. We are so thankful that we had power because my parents were able to stay with us and salvage some of their food...our freezer and fridge were packed to the rim. Part of my parents fence came down but my Dad, brother and DH were able to rebuild it so the dogs would not go loose. So now we are doing well...trying to conserve on food and gasoline. There are not many places that are open in our area.

On a sad note we believe that my Nana's house is under water. She is still out of town right now...they are not allowing anyone into La Porte. I also have a friend that has some major damage to her house. Please pray for these families and everyone in the Houston area that has bad damage.

I have a few pictures to show, however the card reader on my laptop is not working...when I get another card reader I will share those with ya'll.

I'm sorry to say that I won't be posting for a couple of weeks. I'm in the process of moving so I'll be extremely busy in the coming weeks. Once I'm settled in and able to stamp I'll start blogging more. I will check in and update when I can. Thanks in advance for being patient with me as I take a temporary leave from blogging. I can't wait to get back to stamping again...I miss it already!

Thanks for stopping by!

Take care everyone!

Comfort

Hello! I hope this card brings comfort to someone that really needs it! I used the Refuge and Strength set and my new designer brads. I think they add a nice touch!

This card is my try at Color Throwdown #9 from last week.
Thanks goodness my demo sent me some samples of all the new In Colors. That's the only reason I was able to use Baja Breeze. Thanks Tracey!

I really like these colors together. To me they are cheerful! Check out the Color Throwdown every Wednesday for a new color challenge.

Christmas in September

Hello! If you've been following my blog for a while you'll know that I'm participating in my friend Karen's Christmas card challenge. I have made 45 cards to date! I make 5 each month. I wanted to use the snowflake brad (you can see it on the card in the back) but I only had 3 left. So for 2 of the cards I used white ribbon. I ended up liking the cards with the ribbon better.

Thanks for stopping by everyone!!!

A Journey

Hello and Happy Friday everyone!!!! When I looked through the new catalog I saw a lot of things that I really wanted to get but I knew that this set (Happiness is a Journey) was a must for my first order. All the men in my life love trains so I thought this would be great for making masculine cards. I think the new Prestwick DP is really going to help me to. I have a hard time making masculine card...it's really tough for me not to put girly things on a card...lol. I try to make my masculine cards more plain so having that designer paper (DP) will really help! I did add a few emblishments but that's okay. Hope you like this card!

Thanks for stopping by everyone. Have a great weekend!!!!
